Relief or Block - These are images made by printing from a raised surface. It includes block prints such as linoleum and wood cuts, rubber stamps, potato prints, and all manner of simple texture and roller prints. We utilize many interesting materials to make the printing blocks, rollers and plates. We print onto dried painted surfaces and also onto wet surfaaces, thus creating faded and blended patterns. Most people understand the term block print, so I use this word to refer to papers made by all of these various relief print methods.
