All Skycraft Designs papers are handmade using a wide variety of techniques and paint types.

Paper Size:

Marbled Paper stock size is 19 x 25".

We can produce editions of marbled papers on special order. It is possible to provide marbled papers up to 26 x 40 for special orders. These are harder to produce without flaws due to the physical difficulties caused by the grain of the paper and the handling of the very large size. This is reflected in the per sheet price.

Painted Papers, (numbers 5 through 14). Our usual shipping size is 19 x 25" but we have some in the 26 x 39" size.

We have collage bags containing assorted smaller papers, perfect for greeting cards, collages, and other crafts.These are an excellent way to get aquainted with our papers.

PAPER STOCK:

Most of our production is done on a sturdy smooth, resin impregnated colored paper which is produced for the book binding trade. It is extremely strong and is Ph neutral, as we neutralize any residual acid in our production process.

The marbled papers are acrylic paints, using the alum fixative method. They are washed several times to remove the residual alum. We are not able to buffer these as such treatment affects the colors, but they are are chemically consistent with most other marbled papers available today. We have special acid free paper stock for specially ordered papers. We will be glad to use your handmade rag papers for your custom order.

Custom Protective Coatings:

We provide an additional custom service which adds a sealing layer of polymer to protect the marbled or painted papers. This enables designers to use them as wall coverings in the most demanding situation. We have made may editions of papers for use in powder rooms, using this surface protection treatment. They do very well in these applications.
